About Hamlet:

Learning of the king his father’s death, Hamlet comes home to find his uncle married to his mother and installed on the Danish throne. At night, the ghost of the old king demands that Hamlet avenge his “foul and most unnatural murder”.

Encompassing political intrigue and sexual obsession, philosophical reflection and violent action, tragic depth and wild humour, Hamlet is Shakespeare’s “poem unlimited”, a colossus in the story of the English language and the fullest expression of Shakespeare’s genius.

Lasting only two-and-a-half hours and touring to every country in the world over two years, a handful of travelling players will perform a raw, thrillingly elemental production of this inexhaustible play.

I’m afraid they are on a world tour and we are only streaming the one performance. Thank you for your feedback about the streaming. We will take lessons from this experience.

It is only happening in Bangalore. The cast is on a World tour so they will only perform in one city in India.

I was lucky enought o catch the livestreaming just in time but if I had prior information so any of my students could have watched it as well. I have been to the Globe theatre in London and wathed a performance therein 2010. Today’s performance refreshed those memories and the passion and perfection of the Globe artists in today’s performance was same if not more in an alien environment. I really enjoyed the presentation. All who strived to bring to our hoes, need to be congratulated for this magnificient and commendable effort. Happy Journey to the Globe trotters of The GLOBE.
